I write, mix and master projects using Logic, and projects often have 30-40+ tracks, and many 3rd party plugins. If I DO need to buy a new mac, I'd also love to hear thoughts/links to articles on how to choose. But thought I'd post here first and see if anyone had any other ideas. I called the Apple helpline and they basically said it's probably because your Mac is too old, so I'm considering buying a new mac. I'm running Logic on a mid-2012 Macbook pro, with a 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor and 16Gb, running OS Catalina. After I moved Analog Lab onto my SSD, the loading time in logic increased dramatically (up to 10 minutes or so for some projects). Moving Analog Lab V onto an external SSD (Kontakt was already on it, but Analog Lab was on my mac drive) Adjusting audio preferences in various ways (threads, I/O buffer size) The project I was working on has 30 or so tracks, many of which are using 3rd party plugins (Kontakt 7, Analog Lab V). This was not happening the day before, although it has happened off and on with larger projects. Yesterday Logic started giving me very frequent "system overload" errors (after about 30 secs or playing a project).
